The Personal Touch

Back in May I explained how I email new members of my community each month. With over 1000 members joining monthly it’s impossible for me to contact each and everyone of them, but I still believe it’s important to try and connect with as many community members as possible. I still use the same email template, as the one I posted in May, but with slight variations, and as I mentioned in my original post the key to this email is that it comes from my personal site email address as opposed to a “contact@email.com or “admin@email.com etc.
I truly believe this makes all the difference. For example here are some responses I received this month:

Hi Sue,
How lovely to have such a welcome from you. I am unfortunately still waiting for a visa to come over. We have been told up to 24 months . As 8 months have now passed we are getting quite excited. We have 2 daughters in Australia ( 1 still in UK ) 1 in Perth and 1 in Adelaide.We are about to come over for another visit on 6 th Nov. I was last over in June,and can’t wait to be over permanently.
Thanks for your good wishes, will be in touch if I have any questions as the time gets nearer.

Hello Sue, Thanks for your message. I am not in Manila at this time, I’ll be arriving Dec 12th. I will be in Manila for 5 week and it would be a pleasure to meet with you and your group.  I am planning on retiring to Manila. Everything is a bit up in the air at this time.

Thanks for your email. It’s great to know that groups like yours exist. I went to one in Vienna, Austria where I was living for the last two years. I have updated my profile and added a photo. Just posted a new thread too to introduce myself and my husband.

I am still in England between jobs- having finished in Geneva on 31st October and now sorting out the freight and packing for this next posting which begins on 21st November. Sometime after that I will be delighted to pop by to say Hi and to meet folk there.

So you see, even with large numbers of members in your community, it is still possible to connect on a personal one-to-one level, you just have to use your imagination.
